JohnnyWow! has long been concerned with the disparities of assigned gender roles and consequent disparities in contemporary society. Filtered through his rather obscure biblical and classical themes, some strikingly provocative and inexplicable images have arisen.

JohnnyWow!, under his given name of George "Pete" Madsen, has both a BA and MFA in Studio Arts from the University of Washington, acquired in the 60's. He spent over 30 years working as an offset printer, a field in which he had little talent and no interest. Now as JohnnyWow! he is free to explore the themes and issues that have haunted him for decades.

JohnnyWow! has been a weight lifter for 40 years and has 18.5" biceps. He is also a 'loose cannon' blues-rock guitarist. What is lacking in talent and ability is made up for in volume.
